Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- The Sosong district extramural sports school in Pyongyang has produced a large number of reserves of sportsmen and sportswomen.
It is a centre of sports education which enrolls primary and senior middle school pupils in various sports circles according to their talents and tastes and gives an extramural sports guidance to them.
More than 300 graduates from the school distinguished themselves at national and international sports games. Among them are Kim Il, a twice Olympic champion= Kim Yong Sik, a twice world freewrestling champion= and Ri Yong Sam, a twice Asian freewrestling champion. Also among them are Han Hyong Il and Kim Jong Man, who acted as main players of the National Football Team of Korea, Kim Chun Hwa, who placed first in the 1,500 m short track ice skating of the Winter Universiad in Japan= and Choe Kyong Hui and Hwang Po Sil, who played a decisive role for the victory of the DPRK team at the women's gymnastic event of the 16th International Universiad.
The school has able sports instructors including merited athlete Kang Chan Yong, who has trained world-famous wrestlers.
