It has been dominant in every event at the county-level sports games.
In particular, it has retained the first place in such popular games as football, basketball and volleyball for several consecutive years, so it is on even children’s lips in the county.
Such a pride has been brought about by a great zeal for sports.
The committee organizes a variety of sports games on a round-robin basis with the attendance of all employees on national holidays and other important occasions.
The matches are mostly arranged between departments, but sometimes each group is formed equally in terms of ability and even family members take part in games.
Players pool good ideas and efforts and display great enthusiasm in matches as they all value the honour of their groups.
“Such a tradition has been maintained for 20 years, and in the course of this the employees’ sports techniques have improved remarkably,” says chairman Pho Hui Bok.
The employees of the committee do sports as part of their everyday life. Their daily work begins with morning exercise, and in lunchtime and after a day’s work they play table tennis, volleyball and basketball in the compound.
