On January 21, Juche 101 (2012), the players of the national figure skating team were presented with high-quality skates and suits in the name of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

There was a moving story behind this.

It was on December 4 of the previous year, which was Sunday, that the Chairman, together with Kim Jong Un, saw a demonstration staged by the national team.

Each time the players finished their performances, the Chairman applauded ahead of others and spoke highly of their excellent skills. He specified what needed to be done for developing the country’s figure skating to global standards.

Then he promised that he would send them the skates and suits best in the world. Soon afterwards, however, he passed away.

Hearing the sad news, the players and their coaches writhed in agony.

When they, as well as all other people in the country, were still grieving over the loss of their leader, the players received the above gifts. They were informed that Kim Jong Un had the gifts sent to the players, as the Chairman had promised.

Both the players and their coaches shed tears of gratitude for the Supreme Leader’s benevolent care.
