21st Kimilsungia Festival Opens

The 21st Kimilsungia Festival opened at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition House in Pyongyang on April 12 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung).
On display in the festival venue were potted Kimilsungias presented by 80 units including ministries, national agencies, armed forces organs and working people from all walks of life and youth and students.
Also seen there were flowers cultivated by overseas Koreans organizations like the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), overseas Koreans, foreign embassies and missions of international organizations in Pyongyang and friendship and solidarity organizations and personages from different countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Pak Thae Song, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Vice-Premier Jon Kwang Ho of the Cabinet, officials of the festival organizing committee, ministries, national agencies and armed forces organs, working people and service personnel.
Also present there were members of the Society for Disseminating and Supporting Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia, overseas compatriots, resident staff members of the Indonesian embassy and foreign guests.
Kim Chang Do, chairman of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, delivered an address.
After the ceremony, the participants looked round the festival venue.
