The DPRK embassy in Beijing gave a reception on April 12 to mark the Day of the Sun, President Kim Il Sung's birth anniversary.
Present there on invitation were Ji Bingxuan, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, Wang Yajun, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Kong Xuanyou, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, officials concerned and foreign diplomatic envoys in China.
The reception was attended by Jong Hyon U, DPRK charge d'affaires ad interim in China, and embassy staff members.
Prior to the reception, the attendees looked round the photos dealing with the external activities of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
Speeches were made there.
Jong Hyon U referred to the undying feats performed by President Kim Il Sung for the country and its people, noting that he provided the strong historic root of the DPRK-China friendship together with the revolutionaries of the elder generation of China.
He said that the DPRK-China friendship grows stronger day by day under the deep care of Chairman Kim Jong Un and General Secretary Xi Jinping, vowing to do his best to invariably develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries together with Chinese comrades.
Ji Bingxuan pointed out that the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who formed deep friendship with the leaders of the elder generation of China and put his heart and soul into the development of the relations of friendship and cooperation between China and the DPRK, are kept deep in the hearts of the two peoples.
He stated that China-DPRK friendship is valuable asset common to both sides, saying he was pleased that a new chapter of the development of bilateral relations was opened up through the four rounds of meeting between General Secretary Xi Jinping and Chairman Kim Jong Un.
He said that he will strive, together with Korean comrades, to carry out the important shared understanding of the supreme leaders of the two parties and two countries and continue to create a more beautiful future of the China-DPRK friendship this year marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
