The Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery has begun to produce saplings twice a year in its greenhouses covered with light plastic sheets.
While visiting the nursery in July 2018 Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un gave precious instructions to raise the scientific level of sapling production further, turn out saplings twice a year and mass-produce goods kinds of the trees of high economic and decorative value suited to the climate and soil of the province so that it can profit from effective afforestation in actuality.

This year the nursery has established the system of the real-time examination of water quality and adopted drastic measures to overcome the damages from drought. It continues striving hard as ever to lay the firm material and technical foundations for sapling production. The employees of the nursery successfully finished planting young trees in their light plastic sheet greenhouses. They are now tending them to meet the demand of science and technology for their production.
