Banks of Taedong River Are Facelifted

Pyongyang is turning more beautiful with many monumental structures of perfect formative and artistic features springing up along the banks of the picturesque Taedong River flowing across the city.

Such changes are associated with devotion of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who has made tireless efforts to provide people with more perfect and cultured living conditions and environment, never feeling contented in the work for their welfare.

The Supreme Leader advanced a unique ideology and theory that socialist architecture is, in essence, based on the principle of giving first and foremost importance to the masses of the people and saw to it that top priority is given to the aspirations and demands of the people and their convenience in construction.

He visited several times the construction site of the Rungna People’s Recreation Ground, (inaugurated in July 2012) and gave detailed instructions to build all projects perfectly, including the dolphinarium, amusement park and video games hall.

He paid special attention to building the Munsu Water Park. He went over 113 designs for it, which consists of outdoor and indoor wading pools and an indoor gym on an area of 100 000 square metres in order to develop it into a comprehensive water park for the people.

He visited the construction sites of the Ryugyong Health Complex, People’s Open-Air Ice Rink and Roller Rink several times, in spite of the sweltering weather in mid-summer. Noting that contents are more important than styles as the edifices are the gifts our Party presents to the people, and that they should not hurry up their inauguration but make exacting demands so as to build them up perfectly, he solved all knotty problems.

The Mirae Scientists Street has been built by harmoniously combining the Juche character and national identity, originality, convenience and formative and artistic features as required by modern aesthetic feelings, true to the Supreme Leader’s noble intention of prioritizing science and talents.

The Sci-tech Complex, a grand palace of learning for all people in the 21st century, stands on the Ssuk Islet in the Taedong River.

The Supreme Leader ensured that the complex was built into a centre of disseminating latest science and technology where anyone, young and old, can learn to their heart’s content, and cut its inauguration tape on site on January 1, 2016.

The Pyongyang Baby Home, the Pyongyang Orphanage and the Pyongyang Old People’s Home have been built at the excellent sites on the river side. The floating restaurant Taedonggang, the general-service ship Mujigae and the Taedonggang Fish Restaurant, another service complex for the people representative of Pyongyang, add more beauty to the Taedong River.

The realities of the DPRK are unthinkable apart from the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un who has made strenuous, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

Today, the Korean people are faithfully supporting his leadership with the national pride and dignity of holding him at the helm of the revolution.
