Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Li Jinjun hosted a reception at his embassy Thursday to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
Present there on invitation were Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international bodies and military attaches here.
Members of the Chinese embassy and Chinese guests staying here were on hand.
The Chinese ambassador made a speech there.
He said that the People's Republic of China has recorded a beautiful epic in the history of the Chinese nation, bringing about leaps forward and development under the guidance of the Communist Party of China for the past 70 years.
Saying that the China-DPRK friendship with a long history is getting stronger with the passage of time, he noted the five meetings between General Secretary Xi Jinping and Chairman Kim Jong Un demonstrated to the world the vitality of the China-DPRK friendship and the invincibility of the China-DPRK relations.
He affirmed that the stand of the Chinese party and government to consolidate and develop the China-DPRK relations is unshakable, no matter the change of international situation, and the friendly feelings of the Chinese people toward the Korean people will never change.

Warmly congratulating the Chinese people on the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China, he said the Chinese people are registering epochal successes in the struggle for bringing about great prosperity of the Chinese nation, rallied close around the Communist Party of China with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core.
The traditions of friendship personally forged and cultivated by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il with the Chinese leaders of the elder generations are now growing stronger at a new high stage, thanks to the deep comradely trust and extraordinary friendship between Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un and President Xi Jinping, he noted.
He stressed that it is the consistent stand of the Party and the government of the DPRK to invariably consolidate and develop the DPRK-China friendship, a valuable asset common to the peoples of the two countries and a strategic option.
Earlier, the Chinese consul general in Chongjin gave a reception on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the PRC and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and China.
