Greeting the 74th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Korean people are full of emotions, at the sight of the slogan, Long live the Workers’ Party of Korea, which organizes and guides all victories of the Korean people!

The slogan represents all the Korean people’s boundless gratitude to and absolute trust in the great WPK that takes full responsibility for the destiny and future of the country and the nation and leads them to victory and glory.

Under the banner of Juche the WPK has guided the revolution and construction to victory for the past over 70 years without any slightest mistake in its lines.

After Korea’s liberation in August 1945, it abolished the centuries-old backwardness and poverty left over by the Japanese imperialists, built a new, democratic Korea and won a brilliant victory in the hard-fought three-year-long Fatherland Liberation War.

Under the leadership of the great WPK the Korean people rehabilitated the economy on the debris after the war in a short period of time, successfully carried out the socialist industrialization and turned the country into a socialist State, independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in national defence by bringing about a great revolutionary upsurge in socialist construction.

Its leadership ensured successive victories in the grave struggle for defending socialism against the anti-DPRK, anti-socialist manoeuvres of the allied imperialist forces during the Arduous March and forced march in the 1990s, and provided solid springboard for the country’s prosperity and the people’s happiness.

In recent years, its wise leadership has brought about great achievements to be brilliantly recorded in the history of the country in the period of the most trying ordeals, and ushered in a new era of prosperity unprecedented in the 5 000-year-long history of the nation.

True to the wise leadership of the WPK, all the people have given fullest play to their ideological and spiritual strength in the campaign for carrying through the lifetime instructions of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and defending Party policy. Such a new spirit and speed of the times as Kangwondo Spirit and Mallima Speed are being created and the drive to put the national economy on a Juche-oriented, modern, IT-based and scientific footing is in full swing. Unprecedented successes are being witnessed one after another in different parts of the country, including the creations built on the strength of self-reliance based on their own strength and technologies.

The vibrant spirit of socialist Korea and its daily-changing appearance are inspiring the people with confidence that the WPK’s plans and decisions are precisely science and victory and that there will be the bright future of the country and the nation when they faithfully support its leadership.

Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Workers’ Party of Korea delivered a speech at the military parade and public procession of the Pyongyang citizens held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the WPK on October 10, Juche 104 (2015). He said:

“The genuine features of the Workers’ Party of Korea will be expressed in the appearance of the country that is transformed under its leadership and in the looks of the people who are always smiling happily.

“Nothing is more precious than the people, as they constitute the foundation of the country, and nothing is more sacred than their interests.

“Our Party will cherish the people’s sincere loyalty to it as the greatest asset of the revolution and bring earlier everything splendid in the future by shouldering all the burdens and clearing a thorny path for the sake of our brave, resourceful and beautiful people.”

Today, the WPK is victoriously leading the cause of building a socialist power by giving full rein to the mental strength of the masses with its seasoned and experienced leadership.

All the Korean people are extending the highest tribute and greatest glory to the great leaders who founded and built up the WPK, and are making eye-opening achievements in their efforts to build a socialist power, closely united around their Supreme Leader.
