The Pyongyang Children’s Foodstuff Factory is pushing ahead with the upgrading of soya milk production process.
“We are now ensuring the quality and hygienic safety of products on a higher level and turning all production processes into labour- and energy-saving ones by further improving the modernization level of production processes,” said Pak Kwang Hyon, PhD and deputy workshop manager.
According to him, the factory newly established a germ-free tetra production process to modernize the packaging process. Previously, it turned out soybean soup in barrels through ultra-high-temperature sterilization and two rounds of germ-killing processes. However, in the new process soya milk is packaged in paper boxes. As the product is germ-free, it can be stored for six months though it had to be consumed on a daily basis in the past.
The factory is upgrading production processes in line with the requirements of recycling.
It built a new process for the production of polished rice peptide drink to turn out a variety of functional foodstuffs from rice dregs which had been discarded as a residual product.
It also contrived a process of separating bean embryos among the by-product from soybeans selection to produce powdered soybean embryo, and went on to enhance the capacity of a nutritive candy dryer and improve the stone separating capacity of a soybean washing machine.
“At present, our factory works to raise the mechanization level of bean selection process and establish the dust-collection process so as to free itself from dust from selection. And it tries to put the preservation and management of soybeans on a scientific basis,” said Jon Chol Ju, senior staffer of the factory.
