“The inspection and quarantine of import and export goods that pass ports and borders are very important in protecting the lives and safety of the country and people and ensuring the stability of trade dealings,” said Kim Sang Gil, director of the Sinuiju port export and import inspection and quarantine station.
The station has introduced IT into the inspection and quarantine of import and export articles at a high level.
It was some 10 years ago when its staff members thrust themselves into the informatization of inspection and quarantine work.
At that time they developed inspection and quarantine business support system Sinsok 1.0.
Later on, they continued to update the system and brought out Sinsok 4.0 at the national exhibition of IT achievements-2019 last year.
Unlike the previous system, Sinsok 4.0 makes the maximum use of effective functions of Laravel Framework which has now become a global trend.
The functions help customize operating environment, facilitate extensive data retrieval and interface flexibility according to screen mode, optimize the use of mouse and keyboard, and ensure the intuition of epidemiological information based on map.
“The application of Sinsok 4.0 has made it possible to ensure the promptness, precision, scientific accuracy and objectivity of the inspection and quarantine work,” said senior inspector Pak Song Chol.
According to him, the station has several mobile inspection posts under it and it is over 50 kilometres to the farthest post. Though all the mobile inspection posts are geographically far away from the station, they carry on the necessary inspection and quarantine work satisfactorily by ensuring data communications through the access to the main server.
In case of the inspection and quarantine work on the sea, they ensure the link between the main server and the marine server in the way of data transmission and reception based on safety storing device.
“The real-time observation of the inspection and quarantine work which is conducted at any place and at any time helps not only give prompt and unified command but also save much labour, time and material,” said the director of the station.
The station also renewed experimental and analysing equipment and introduced IT into measuring instruments, raising the quality of the inspection and quarantine work a level higher.
