The 2019 review meeting in the agricultural sector raised its curtain in Pyongyang Indoor Stadium in Pyongyang on January 17.
The meeting will discuss the tasks and ways for attaining the new goal of grain production this year on the basis of exchanging successes and experiences gained in the process of increasing the numbers of high-yield farmers, sub-workteams, workteams and farms and analyzing and reviewing the shortcomings and lessons made in their work last year.
It was attended by farmers and primary officials of rural communities, scientists and technicians in the field of agricultural science research who distinguished themselves in agricultural production last year, innovators in the fields of stockbreeding, agricultural machinery, irrigation, land realignment and tideland reclamation and officials concerned.
The platform was taken by Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee; premier Kim Jae Ryong of the Cabinet, member of the Political Bureau of the WPK central Committee, member of the DPRK State Affairs Commission; Ri Man Gon and Pak Thae Dok, vice-chairmen of the WPK Central Committee, vice-premier Kim Il Chol of the Cabinet and concurrently chairman of the State Planning Commission; Ko In Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet and minister of Agriculture; and other senior officials of the Party and the government, chairmen of the provincial Party committees, chairman of the Central Committee of the the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea; leading officials of provinces, cities and counties that took the lead in implementing the Party’s policy of the agricultural revolution; agricultural workers; agricultural scientists and technicians; and officials concerned.
Pak Pong Ju read out the congratulatory message Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and Supreme Commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, sent to the participants in the meeting.
Kim Jae Ryong delivered a report.
He underlined the need to glorify this significant year which marks the WPK’s 75th founding anniversary with unprecedentedly increased agricultural production by bringing about a great upsurge in production.
