A state funeral for anti-Japanese war veteran Hwang Sun Hui, deputy to the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and curator of the Korean Revolution Museum, was held in Pyongyang on Jan 19.
It was attened by Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, other members of the State Funeral Committee and the bereaved family members.
The coffin of the deceased was carried out.
The hearse left for the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong in Pyongyang.
Passers-by stopped and expressed their sorrow at her death.
The ceremony of bidding farewell to the deceased was held at the cemetery.
Choe Ryong Hae in the eulogy said that hers was a life of a revolutionary and woman who led a fulfilling life under the loving care of the peerlessly great persons and a life of a staunch vanguard fighter who defended the ideas, authority and guidance of the leaders in every way and faithfully upheld them.
Although she passed away, the feats she performed for the Party, revolution, country and people will be remembered forever, Choe stressed.
Her remains were buried in the grave of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter Ryu Kyong Su.
The members of the State Funeral Committee and her bereaved family members spread earth on the remains.
Placed at the grave were a wreath sent by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, and wreaths in the names of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.
