“We are pleased with the growing internal and external interest in the activities of the association and the qualitative and quantitative improvement of sexual and reproductive health services provided for women in close collaboration with governmental health organs,” said Ko Kwang Jin, professor, PhD and president of the Korean Family Planning & Maternal and Child Health Association.
In an interview held with The Pyongyang Times reporter Kim Rye Yong to mark the 30th anniversary of the association (January 25) Ko said KFP&MCHA would continue to contribute to implementing the national health policy and fulfil the duty and responsibilities as a member of the International Parenthood Planning Federation.
The association strives to champion women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and provide and enable quality information, communication, education and services for all, especially the under-served.
It strengthens collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, organizations of women and youth and other government organs and social organizations to create environments favourable for improving SRH and raise public and social awareness of it.
It also boosts the activities of family planning clinics and outreach service teams in a sustainable way.
