City and county sci-tech committees in South Phyongan Province are directing efforts to preventing the environment from being polluted while increasing the actual rate of extracting substitute fuel from waste plastics by steadily updating technology. Sunchon City developed a new fuel additive from waste plastics and is producing road pavement materials by making use of leftovers.
The North Phyongan Provincial Sci-Tech Committee developed a technology of producing biogas and bio-fertilizers at the same time by making use of sewage and night soil and introduced it into tens of units and many households.
