Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un received a congratulatory letter from the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on May 25 on the occasion of its 65th birth anniversary.
The letter paid tribute to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on behalf of all the Chongryon officials and other Koreans in Japan and extended the greatest glory and warm thanks to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
It said that the past 65 years covered by Chongryon were a praiseworthy and glorious period when it provided the origin of the Juche-oriented movement of overseas compatriots and fully demonstrated to the world its dignity as a victor thanks to the outstanding idea and wise leadership of the peerlessly great men of Mt Paektu.
After learning in detail about the movement of Koreans in Japan, the President advanced an original policy to save the movement from crisis, and personally formed Chongryon, the first overseas compatriots' organization of Juche, the letter added.
Kim Jong Il indicated the path to be followed by Chongryon with his brilliant intelligence and strengthened the ranks of its officials into the ones of single-minded unity steadfast in ideology and faith, the letter said, adding that even in the period when the country underwent the arduous march, he firmly defended Chongryon with the treasured sword of Songun.
The letter said that Kim Jong Un sent his instructions and congratulatory letters and messages including the May 25, 2015-dated letter "Let Us Usher in a New Golden Age of the Movement of Koreans in Japan True to the Intention of the Great Comrade Kim Jong Il", a great programme for the movement of Koreans in Japan, and led the work of Chongryon to victory in the new century of Juche, thus adding luster to the leadership feats performed by the great leaders for Chongryon.
The letter praised Kim Jong Un as the tender-hearted father taking in his arms Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, and as the outstanding leader indicating the road ahead of the movement of Koreans in Japan and encouraging them to new innovations.
The letter respectfully wished Kim Jong Un good health on behalf of all the Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan. -0-
