Among the people!

These words clearly show the greatness of President Kim Il Sung, the benevolent people’s father’s who found himself among the people and shared sweets and bitters with them in the whole period of his life.

President Kim Il Sung became the great sun of the Korean nation, who are resourceful and courageous, love justice and truth and value sentiments and obligation and began his revolutionary activities with going among the people. He shared sorrow and pleasure with the people who were forced the fate of being the ruined one, liberated the country by uniting the people into one, and built a dignified independent country of the people on the land which had suffered from humiliation due to the worship of big powers and submission.

The President created legendary Chollima and set up the Korean people as the great people with invincible Party and state that nobody dares provoke, thus enabling them to lead happy life to their heart’s content in the people-centered socialist country advancing by the dint of independence, self-sufficiency and self-defence.

During the protracted period since he embarked on the road of the revolution at the early age of 13, President Kim Il Sung led to victory the two revolutionary wars and social revolutions, two occasions of rehabilitation and construction and several stages of socialist construction and thus achieved great immortal exploits.

The fundamental secret of his great exploits lies in that he regarded The People Are My God as his motto and went among the people, shared will and woe with them and enlisted their inexhaustible strength in his whole life.

The President regarded the popular masses as heaven and teacher as well as the most omnipotent and powerful beings in the world. Therefore, it was the President’s creed and motto that if one loves the people, regards them as the best and relies on them, nothing is impossible.

He wrote on the preface of his reminiscences that recollect his whole life.

“Revolutionaries, believe in the people and rely on them at all times and you shall always emerge victorious; if you are forsaken by them, you will always fail. Let this be your maxim in your life and struggle.” Whenever he found an opportunity or met the officials, he earnestly told them to go among the people.

Saying that going among the people is like to take tonic and that failing to do so is to take poison, the President continued field guidance to meet the people during his whole life. That was why he put forward ideas and policies that were run through with the idea The People Are My God and when he built the motherly party and the people’s state that serve the people.

Among the people! These words contain the greatness of President Kim Il Sung who was humble and honest, and shared destiny with the people with comradeship and benevolence.

As Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said, the President was a tiger of Mt. Paektu to the enemies, but a very kind-hearted and dear father to his men and people.

Still when we find ourselves on the folk road to Mangyongdae, we remind of the President who went to meet the workers of Kangson Steel Plant after liberation of the country, leaving behind his native home Mangyongdae he had been dreaming, and remember that he took a seat on a broken wall concrete and earnestly appealed then to remove the ruins as immediately as possible.

We picture humble straw mat the President sat on when he discussed farming with the farmers if we are at farms, nets he touched with fishermen if at fishing farms and traces of him who even went to the heading face to arouse the workers to the increasing of coal production if at coal mines.

Thanks to the President who always went among the people, socialist paradise where people become the masters was built and many monumental edifices erected for the people.

The President saw the schoolchildren’s New Year performance every year keeping his promise with them till the last period of his life. From this, we know well the President’s ennobling view of younger generation.

Being always among the people and forming a harmonious whole with them--this is the fundamental secret that enabled the President to make such great exploits of the times and enjoy boundless respect and admiration from the people.

The history of noble love for the people of President Kim Il Sung who found himself among the people in his whole life was connected by Chairman Kim Jong Il and is still continued by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Thanks to the history of The People Are My God being made by the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu through generations, dignity of Juche Korea is demonstrated to the world and might of single-minded unity, the inevitable might of the people-centred socialism is displayed to the full.
