Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday says in an editorial that the militant slogan "Let us live and struggle in the spirit of the great defenders of the country!" set forth in the congratulatory speech by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un at the Sixth National Conference of War Veterans is the crystallization of warm love and respect of our Party which adds luster to the heroic lives of the victorious wartime generation. It also serves as a militant banner inspiring our people to perform new feats.
The spirit demonstrated by the great defenders of the country is a precious moral treasure, the editorial says, and goes on.
The noble revolutionary spirit possessed by the people of the victorious wartime generation are trust in the greatness of their leader and faith in certain victory, ardent patriotism of valuing their country more than their lives and defending the country at the cost of their lives and unparalleled popular heroism and hearty love for the younger generations.
The defenders of the country in the 1950s consolidated the spirit of struggle created by the anti-Japanese forerunners as traits unique to our people and demonstrated it as the might of heroic Korea, and herein lies their immortal feats before the country and the revolution.
The noble spirit displayed by the wartime martyrs has led our people to the new struggle and enabled our country to make leaping progress and innovation.
The Chollima spirit is the inheritance of the great spirit of defending the country, and the spirit of the arduous march is the realization of the brave spirit of the heroic soldiers who defeated the aggression of the imperialist allied forces. The value of the revolutionary spirit possessed by the wartime fighters is further highlighted and it ceaselessly boosts the zeal for patriotism and struggle of the people though the age and the century change.
We should make the climate of living and struggling like the defenders of the country unchangeable social customs.
What we do today is watched by wartime heroic soldiers, and our lives and feats are now seen by the younger generation. -0-
