The Japanese imperialists set up a government-general in Korea on October 1, 1910. Since then they enforced a vicious colonial gubernatorial administration in the whole period of their occupation of Korea. The atrocities committed by them in those days left unhealed wounds in the minds of the Korean people.

The Korean Government-General was a heinous repressive organ.

All those who took the governor-generalship in Korea were the notorious executioners. The first Governor-General Terautsi said "the Koreans must obey the Japanese laws or be killed". It shows well the ferocious and brutal nature of the Japanese imperialists.

In the whole period of their gubernatorial administration the Japanese imperialists enforced the unprecedentedly heinous policies of obliterating the Korean nation.

In a bid to emasculate the anti-Japanese spirit of the Korean people and keep their colonial rule, the Korean Government-General fabricated a system of gendarme and police and then, enforced a vicious medieval reign of terror on its basis.

The Japanese imperialists mercilessly killed the Koreans without any legal formalities or trial according to the "ordinance on summary conviction" by mobilizing the gendarme and police organs set up everywhere in Korea. In 1918 alone the number of the arrested Koreans increased more than 10 times as against 1912.

The Japanese imperialists cruelly killed more than 100,000 Koreans who took part in the anti-Japanese popular uprising on March 1, 1919 as a token of indignation at their increasing repression.

In the 1930s they were hell-bent on massacre, saying; "If you kill 100 Koreans, at least one of them may be a communist. So, kill the Koreans at random."

They abducted, kidnapped and forcibly walked off more than 8.4 million Koreans for a war of death and hard toil and unhesitatingly committed brutal massacres to put even the beast in the shade under the pretext of the secrecy.

One of the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists is the extra-large immoral crime that they reduced 200,000 Korean women to sex slaves. The Japanese imperialists set up the sex slavery not simply to preserve their combat power and tighten discipline. It was part of their policy of obliterating the Korean nation.

Besides, they enforced the policy of making Koreans "imperial subjects" under the deceptive slogans; "The Japanese and the Korean are of the same ancestry" and "Japan and Korea are one". Worse still, they made desperate efforts to deprive the Koreans of their first and second names and their spoken and written language.

Indescribable are the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists during their gubernatorial administration.

Unpardonable are the past crimes of the Japanese imperialists who ran amok to make Korea their perpetual colony.
