Kim Jong Un
, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a floral basket to the Friendship Tower on October 21 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers' entry into the Korean front.
A guard of honour of the Korean People's Army was lining up at the Friendship Tower.
The national anthem of the People's Republic of China and the national anthem of the DPRK--Patriotic Song--were played.
The floral basket in the name of
Kim Jong Un
was placed at the Friendship Tower.
Floral baskets were laid in the name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the State Affairs Commission, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK, and the KPA.
Present at the floral basket-laying ceremony was Pak Pong Ju, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and Vice-Chairman of the Party Central Committee.
Also on hand were Kim Su Gil, Thae Hyong Chol, Ri Ryong Nam and Kim Yong Hwan, Members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK; Ri Chang Gun, Deputy Department Director of the Party Central Committee; Pak Myong Ho, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Pak Kyong Il, Chairman of the Korea-China Friendship Society and Vice-Chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers who set a genuine example of the noble internationalist spirit and fraternal friendship, devoting their precious lives, and then, looked round the Friendship Tower.
