The cultural heritages showing the high level of development, independence and superiority of the Korean culture continue to be increased.
The National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage has deliberated and estimated the cultural heritages on the principle of loyalty to historical truth and in keeping with the demand of the developing times in close contact with the relevant units and thus registering three objects as the relics for preservation and living monuments.
Koguryo Wells Nos. 1 and 2 in Rimhung-dong have been unearthed in Taesong District of Pyongyang City to be registered as the relics for preservation.
The well in Kosan-dong and the well in Jongrung Temple have been known as the well relics of the Koguryo dynasty so far. But the recent survey and unearthing of another well relics in Rimhung-dong made it possible to obtain valuable historical materials for scientifically clarifying the kind, structure and the course of change and development of the wells in Koguryo dynasty.
