Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- Two wells excavated in Taesong District of Pyongyang City have been registered as cultural heritage of the Korean nation. The wells date back to the Koguryo Kingdom.
Many red roofing tiles and pieces of earthenware bowls dating back to the Koguryo Kingdom were found in the wells which are partly in original state after excavation.
This helped archeologists scientifically clarify the kinds and structure of the wells dating back to the Koguryo Kingdom.
Those newly found wells were named Rimhungdong Koguryo Wells No.1 and No. 2.
Meanwhile, Pothonggang Mineral Spring in Pyongyang good for health has been newly registered as a natural monument
The mineral water is slightly alkaline, full of various minerals needed for human body. The spring's daily gushing amount is 72? and the temperature is 12 to 14℃ in all seasons.
The spring is said to prove effective for curing chronic gastritis and skin diseases.
The Bureau for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, on the basis of a detailed examination and appraisal in close contact with relevant units, registered the wells as cultural heritage and the spring as a natural monument.
Those on cultural heritage list of the DPRK show the developed culture of the Korean nation, its originality and superiority.
