The Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea decided to have President Kim Il Sung take even some days’ rest.
Unable to refuse it this time, the President made his way to North Hwanghae Province.
He happened to see schoolchildren playing by the roadside without wearing overcoats when he was passing through a mountainous village. After arriving at the lodging place, he repeatedly said that children were playing outside without overcoats though it was cold. He could not fall asleep with the thought that he could not feel at ease even though he took a hundred days’ rest, given that farmers still failed to be well off.
The President returned to Pyongyang the following day and convened a meeting of the Political Committee of the Party Central Committee to advance the way to solve the problem of clothes of rural children, especially pupils.
