Having mainly finished dwellings in the flood-stricken Komdok area the units of the Korean People’s Army set about improving its river conditions and building roads all at once.
The soldiers of the KPA units concreted the ground for the foundations of embankments with hundreds of cubic meters of aggregate along the shores of rivers every day and coated them with large stones to thoroughly meet the demand of the relevant plans. Meanwhile, they simultaneously widen roads, build retaining walls, drive thousands of guard piles and install guard rails.
The strong embankments, broad and straight roads, concrete bridges and thousands of trees planted along the banks of the river add beauty to the Komdok area.
The building for the Kumgol Youth Railway Station has been completed at Sao-dong, Tanchon City.
It has a waiting hall for travelers and a waiting room for mothers with their babies. Besides, various services are also ready for travelers for their convenience. Furthermore, an escalator is to be installed for the disabled.
