Entering 2020, the Workers’ Party of Korea held a large number of meetings.

The Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held in February discussed in depth the issues of thoroughly applying the people-first principle in the Party building and activities and adopting and strictly enforcing top-class anti-epidemic measures to contain the viral epidemic spreading rapidly across the world.

The Political Bureau meeting of the Central Committee of the WPK held on April 11 decided and discussed as the first agenda the issue of taking more thorough state measures to protect life and safety of the people from the pandemic disease.

The 13th Political Bureau Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK held on June 7 discussed in depth some crucial issues arising in improving the people’s living standard.

The 14th Political Bureau Enlarged Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK held on July 2 reviewed the work done during the past 6 months to prevent the malignant contagious disease and discussed an issue on further consolidating the current anti-epidemic situation by enhancing the state emergency anti-epidemic work.

The Emergency Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held on July 25 adopted a decision on shifting from the state emergency anti-epidemic system to the maximum emergency system.

The 4th Meeting of the Executive Policy Council of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK held on August 5 discussed and decided the issue on the special supply of food and funds to stabilize the living of citizens in Kaesong City that is completely locked down under the state’s maximum emergency system, and instructed relevant field to take immediate measures in this regard.

The 16th Meeting of the Political Bureau of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK held on August 13 examined and discussed the issues of eradicating the flood damage and providing the people with stable conditions as early as possible, further strictly maintaining the state emergency anti-epidemic system in the face of the worldwide public health crisis and perfecting the regular commanding system for anti-epidemic work.

The 6th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK held on August 19 discussed as a major agenda the issue of convening the 8th Congress of the WPK in order to set forth a new line and strategic and tactical policies on the basis of requirements of the developing Korean revolution and the changed situation, and to strengthen further the Party organizationally and ideologically.

The Enlarged Meeting of the Executive Policy Council of the Central Committee of the WPK held in a typhoon-hit area in September discussed in depth the issue of organizing the campaign to recover from natural disasters in the areas of South and North Hamgyong provinces hit by typhoon Maysak.

The Central Military Commission of the WPK held an enlarged meeting on September 8 as regards the severe damage worked by typhoon Maysak in the Komdok area of South Hamgyong Province and discussed state measures for reconstruction.

As seen above, the agendas discussed at the meetings are the ones related to safety and life of the people.

The WPK struggles and works for the good of the people.

The WPK has realized everything once it determined to do for the good of the people.

The WPK, that has never conducted its activities apart from the people, is now unfolding gigantic projects for the people’s happiness by relying on the people.
