elected as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and thoroughly implement the decision of the Eighth Party Congress.

The rostrum was taken by Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Ri Pyong Chol, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Party and Secretary of the Party Central Committee; and Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK.

It was also taken by senior officials of the Party and the government, leading officials of the commissions, ministries and national agencies, leading Party and administrative officials of Pyongyang City and labour innovators.

The rostrum was taken by officials of the armed forces organs.

Present at the rally were officials of the commissions, ministries and national agencies, officials and workers of the institutions, industrial establishments and cooperative farms in Pyongyang City and service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Public Security Forces.

A speech was made by Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and First Vice-Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and President of the Presidium of the SPA of the DPRK.

He said the reelection of the respected

Kim Jong Un

to the head of the WPK at the historic Eighth Party Congress is an eruption of the absolute trust and boundless loyalty and filial devotion of the entire Party members and all other Korean people to him; it is a great revolutionary event which provided a decisive guarantee for victory in socialism of Korean style and promised its bright future.

He extended the greatest honour and warmest congratulations to the respected

Kim Jong Un

, the great leader of the Party and people, representing the fervent loyalty of the entire Party members and other people and service personnel of the People's Army to him.

He stressed that the officials, Party members and other working people and service personnel should firmly arm themselves with the main idea and spirit of the Eighth Party Congress which provided a new milestone for an overall development of the cause of Korean-style socialism and increase the revolutionary enthusiasm to make a substantial success and progress in socialist construction.

He ardently called for vigorously turning out to implement the decision of the Eighth Party Congress to achieve a greater victory in the socialist cause and bring earlier the new era when the people's ideal and desire will come true, in firm unity around the Party Central Committee with one mind and purpose.
