It has been 75 years since the Korean youth movement was launched.
We look back upon all the days of its history with pride and glory.
It was President Kim Il Sung who started the Korean youth movement.
Regarding the youth as a powerful motive force of the revolution and backbone unit which would shoulder upon themselves the future of the nation, he began his revolutionary activities from the work with them, provided the precious tradition of the youth movement in the flames of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and illuminated the way ahead of the youth in each period and stage of the developing revolution.
Chairman Kim Jong Il saw to it that the youth league was named after the President and the history of the Workers’ Party of Korea went on as the one of giving importance to young people.
In the arduous period when the country had to go through manifold hardships and trials due to the vicious challenges and stifling moves of hostile forces, he handed over the torch of the revolution to our young people and put them forward as the eternal companions of the Party and put up the slogan “Love young people!”
Today, our youth movement advances with redoubled courage under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who invariably holds fast to the policy of giving importance to young people as a strategic line and trains them into warriors who will implement the cause of the Juche revolution.
He regards the merits and laudable deeds displayed by young people as the most valuable things and makes them widely known across the country.
Thanks to such belief and love, the young people are now dedicating their prime of life unhesitatingly for the advance of the country and developing the youth movement full of enthusiasm and hopes.
We will make the feats of the youth league shine in the course of building a powerful socialist country.
