Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, had a photo session with the participants in the military parade for commemorating the Eighth Congress of the WPK on Saturday.

Present there were Ri Pyong Chol, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission, and leading officials of armed forces organs Pak Jong Chon, Kwon Yong Jin, Kim Jong Gwan and Ri Yong Gil.

The participants were filled with great excitement as they were honoured to have a photo taken with the Supreme Leader at Kim Il Sung Square where the military parade for celebrating the Eighth Party Congress was splendidly held in his presence.

When the Supreme Leader arrived at the venue of the photo session, all the participants broke into thunderous cheers of "Hurrah!", extending the highest glory to him who helped them bear deeper in their minds the historic mission of the revolutionary army of the Party by making sure that the Party congress was celebrated in splendour with a grand parade of the revolutionary armed forces and that a historic advance toward a fresh victory of Korean-style socialism is begun.

The Supreme Leader warmly waved back to the paraders who demonstrated through the military parade to the whole world the might of the army of the WPK, which is boundlessly loyal to the Party and people, and the most powerful elite army, which holds military technological edge over the world, and who expressed full support for the strategic line of the Party with their strong will to take the lead in making a breakthrough for the implementation of the decisions made at the Eighth Party Congress.

He posed for a picture with the participants in the military parade, expressing his belief that the revolutionary armed forces would fulfil their mission and duty as the main defender of the state and the genuine army of the people firmly safeguarding the country and people.

When the photo session was over, all the participants broke again into stormy cheers of "Hurrah!" and the chants of "Kim Jong Un" and "Devoted defence".

They took an oath of loyalty to devotedly defend the Party Central Committee headed by the Supreme Leader by dint of invincible arms and fully demonstrate the dignity of the powerful revolutionary army in the forefront of the all-people offensive for implementing the fighting programme set forth at the Party congress.
