The General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and its affiliated organizations sent messages to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to congratulate him on his election as general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

They came from such central organizations of Chongryon as the standing governing body of the Federation of Korean Men of Commerce in Japan, central standing committees of the Korean Youth League in Japan and the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, the central standing management board of the Korean Youth Commercial Association in Japan, the central standing committee of the Union of Korean Teachers in Japan, the central standing governing body of the Association of Korean Social Scientists in Japan, the standing governing body of the Korean Sportsmen’s Federation in Japan, the central standing committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, the central standing governing body of the Korean Health Workers Association in Japan, the central standing committee of the Union of Korean Students in Japan, the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification and the central standing governing body of the Human Rights Association of Koreans in Japan, such businesses of Chongryon as Joson Sinbo, Joson news agency, the Kumgangsan Opera Troupe and Kumgang Insurance Company Ltd, each local headquarters of Chongryon, Korea University and other Korean schools at all levels in Japan.

The organizations in the messages extended the greatest glory and warmest congratulations to him by reflecting the boundless reverence and burning loyalty of all Chongryon officials and other compatriots in Japan for the Supreme Leader who was elected as general secretary of the WPK at its Eighth Congress.

As he has been elected as WPK general secretary, the revolutionary cause of Juche which was advanced victoriously under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, has become able to make a more dynamic advance by overcoming all manner of trials and, in the course of this, a new heyday would surely be ushered in for the movement of Koreans in Japan, they pointed out.

They said that Chongryon officials and other compatriots in Japan, through the past stirring years of their life and struggle under his leadership, keenly felt the iron truth that all happiness and rosy future are in store for them only when they follow the Supreme Leader, outstanding leader of the Juche revolution, symbol of might of the DPRK and banner of victory and glory.

They also said they were filled with the strong determination to consolidate Chongryon organizations into a fortress of patriotism and reliable cornerstone on the strength of ideology and single-hearted unity and hasten a new heyday in the movement of Koreans in Japan by establishing more thoroughly the unified leadership system of the Supreme Leader this year, a year of great change and struggle when a march towards a fresh development and prosperity is launched according to the plan and goals for prosperity by dint of self-reliance set forth at the Eighth Party Congress.

Cherishing the great favour and trust of the Supreme Leader who affirmed that he would embrace all Chongryon officials and other compatriots in Japan as the great Korean people living in an alien land as the mainstay of their life, they would surely make a report of loyalty to him by strengthening Chongryon into a dignified overseas revolutionary organization of the DPRK, a reliable wing of the Korean revolution and a powerful overseas combat unit, the messages stressed.

They wished Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the WPK and the benevolent father of Chongryon officials and other Korean residents in Japan, good health for the victorious advance and bright future of the revolutionary cause of Juche and Chongryon’s patriotic cause.
