Working people's organizations held joint meetings in Pyongyang and all provinces to pledge to carry out the first year's tasks of the five-year plan set forth at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Speakers at the meetings called upon officials and members of the working people's organizations to implement the decisions made at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK most brilliantly and most perfectly, expressing their will to make a breakthrough for victory in this year's struggle through new innovations, bold creations and constant advance under the banner of self-reliance and self-sufficiency, bearing deep in mind the main idea and spirit of the plenary meeting.
They stressed the need to strictly observe the infectious disease prevention rules and consolidate the infectious disease prevention positions, keeping in mind that to ensure flawlessness in the infectious disease prevention efforts is the number one of the important tasks for this year.
They called on young people to perform miracles and feats in this year's general offensive and the workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea to work hard to put production on normal and active track in all fields of economic construction.
They said the members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea should attain without fail this year's goal of grain production by fulfilling their mission as masters responsible for the granary of the country and the members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea should turn the country into a socialist flower garden full of moral excellence and tender feelings by giving priority to state affairs over the family ones and fully displaying the noble virtues and traits of devoting themselves to the organizations, collective and comrades.
The speakers referred to the need to further intensify the campaign against anti-socialist and non-socialist practices.
Letters of pledge to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings.
