The 11th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea took place via teleconference system on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK.
Present there as observers were officials of the Central Committee of the GFTUK and its city and county committees.
The meeting discussed the issue of devotedly carrying out the first-year tasks of the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, that of further intensifying the campaign against anti-socialist and non-socialist practices throughout the society and others.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made reports on agenda items.
He analyzed and reviewed in detail the shortcomings revealed in working out the first-year plan of the new five-year plan and referred to the need for its organizations at all levels to turn their work into aspiring to and encouraging fresh innovation, bold creation and steady advance and for the central committee to take decisive steps to remove the old working system and obstacles standing in its way.
He said that the campaign to thoroughly eradicate anti-socialist and non-socialist practices which are threatening our politico-ideological position, class position at present should be intensified further.
The GFTUK organizations should level a barrage of criticism at anti-socialist and non-socialist practices and step up the campaign against illegal conducts witnessed in social life, he said.
He called on all officials and members of the GFTUK to work hard to bring about substantial changes and achievements in the general advance of the first year in implementing the new five-year plan, upholding the spirit of the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Other speakers said they would make continuous innovations in their efforts to implement the new five-year plan in the collective spirit of helping one another forward, holding high the slogan “One for all and all for one!”
They also referred to the ways to stage an ideological and organizational campaign to eliminate anti-socialist and non-socialist practices in an offensive way and give education efficiently to implant firm confidence in socialism in the minds of the members at the GFTUK organizations at all levels.
Relevant resolutions were adopted at the enlarged plenary meeting after a full discussion of draft resolutions presented to the meeting.
