The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , who devotes his all solely for the good of the people, enjoys boundless reverence and respect by the people of his country for his people-oriented traits and leadership abilities.

He believes in people as in heaven.

At the Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in February Juche 104 (2015), General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the WPK said that it is the Party’s view on the people to cherish them with deep sincerity as the images of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il , who regarded them as their God, and hold them in as much reverence as it does the great leaders.

He regards holding the people in reverence as his lifetime mission and puts them forward as valuable beings he must defend with a do-or-die resolve. He cherishes deep in his heart the images of his great people who have achieved victory and glory under the leadership of the Party, sincerely trusting in and following it with single-hearted loyalty.

He sent an open letter to all the Party members in the capital city of Pyongyang for the reconstruction projects in North and South Hamgyong provinces, where he wrote the words for our great people in reflection of his ardent appeal. He concluded his speech delivered at the military parade held in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK with the slogan Long live our great people!

He makes devoted efforts for the sake of these great people.

He initiated the building in Pyongyang of the Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital and the Medical Oxygen Factory for the promotion of their health, went over their layouts and clarified the problems arising in their construction. On one rainy day, he visited the construction sites of the Ryugyong Dental Hospital and the Okryu Children’s Hospital. Late at night on one February day in 2018 he got on a prototype trolley bus on a trial run, carefully examining its running with the attitude of people who would take it. At dead of night on one August day that year, he set out on his guidance trip to Yangdok County with a plan to build a cultural resort in the famous spa town.

He is on an endless journey for the people to make their happiness, dreams and desires come true.

As he regards that nothing is more precious than the people, the foundation of the country, and nothing is more sacred than their interests, he declared a do-or-die war of rehabilitation and took crucial measures for concentrating all the human, material and technical potentials of the country on the reconstruction campaign when the northern area of North Hamgyong Province was afflicted by flooding in 2016.

2020 was a rigorous year for the DPRK; floods and typhoons hit its several parts in succession amid the ever-worsening world health crisis caused by COVID-19.

Given the situation, Kim Jong Un presided over more than 10 rounds of important meetings of the WPK Central Committee to discuss and decide on the issues for protecting the lives and safety of the victims and providing convenience in their living.

He personally drove his car to a farm village in Unpha County, North Hwanghae Province, through a muddy road submerged by flooding, and inspected the Komdok area in South Hamgyong Province hit by typhoons, his train running over the dangerous section of a provisional bridge, whose piers had been built with logs.

Thanks to his leadership aimed at relieving the victims of the misfortune and sufferings, cradles of happy life sprang up in the areas afflicted by natural disasters.

His boundless sincerity and affection for the people find an expression in his thoughts: What can I do more for the great people and what should I do more for them?

As discussed and decided at the Eighth Congress of the WPK held in January 2021, he saw to it that the construction of 10 000 flats in Pyongyang this year was pushed ahead without fail as planned, and attended its ground-breaking ceremony.

He proposed building terraced houses for 800 families on the Pothong riverside for the working people including labour innovators and meritorious persons in all sectors and scientists, educators and writers who are working with devotion for the Party and the state. He then inspected the project site on two occasions to resolve the problems arising in their construction.

That is why the Korean people trust and follow him as the saviour of their life and father of their great, harmonious family.
