received a personal letter from Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
Nguyen Phu Trong expressed deep thanks to
Kim Jong Un
for having sent his verbal message to inform him of the holding of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and warmly congratulated the successful holding of the 8th Congress of the WPK once again.
He said the 8th Congress of the WPK maintains the principle of believing in the people as in heaven, puts importance on the work for Party building for the sake of people and adopted the 5-year plan for economic development in keeping with the orientation to the sustained development of the country and the tangible improvement of people's living. He expressed the belief that the WPK, by implementing the decisions of the 8th Congress of the Party with success, will definitely put the DPRK on the road of socialist construction and achieve fresh and greater successes in socio-economic development.
Nguyen Phu Trong gave a detailed information of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam held from January 25th to February 1st.
During the period under review, in particular, the Communist Party of Viet Nam has displayed the might of great national unity and the superiority of socialist system, stabilized the life of people and cemented the people's trust in the Party, the state and the socialist system while the Congress confirmed once again that the Party's leadership is a decisive factor guaranteeing the victorious development of the country to the direction of socialism, he added.
He said the Vietnamese Party and people will consistently enforce the external policy of independence, friendship and peace, cooperation and development. He expressed the firm conviction that joint efforts will be made for the interests of the peoples of the two countries, Viet Nam and the DPRK, for the cause of building socialism in two countries and for the contribution to peace, stability and the development in the region and the rest of the world and the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and the peoples of the two countries would be creditably carried forward and developed day by day.

greater success in his work for leading the WPK and the Korean people.
