The Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first revolutionary armed force, was founded in the forest of Antu on April 25, Juche 21(1932). It was called the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army at that time.
Standing in front of the ranks with the red flag flying, the great leader
Kim Il Sung
looked at his presentable men in military uniforms for a good while as if looking back upon those unforgettable days when he was building the armed ranks and made significant speech: Today we are going to organize the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army to wage an armed struggle against the brigandish Japanese imperialists to defeat them and accomplish the historic cause of national liberation.
When he declared the founding of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army all over the world, all his men raised cheers of hurrah and the people enthusiastically clapped their hands.
Acknowledging their cheers,
Kim Il Sung
called upon all to wage a vigorous armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists under the unfurled red flag of the revolution in order to accomplish the historic cause of national liberation.
Along with the spring of Antu, the Korean people could realize the centuries-old desire to have their own genuine army.
They could defeat the brigandish Japanese imperialists and accomplish the sacred cause of national liberation thanks to the arduous and heroic struggle of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army founded by
Kim Il Sung
.
After liberation,
Kim Il Sung
strengthened and developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the Korean People's Army, regular revolutionary armed forces.
The Korean People's Army is a revolutionary army which carried forward the anti-Japanese traditions such as the indomitable revolutionary spirit, rich combat experience and superb tactics of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.
