The Korean working people significantly celebrated May Day, international holiday of the working people all over the world.
They visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance.
At the plaza of the palace, they made a bow before the portraits of the smiling President and Chairman.
Working people from all parts of society laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers and made a bow before the statues of the President and the Chairman on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang and in all other parts of the country and mosaics portraying their smiling images.
Colourful art performances were given at theatres and on outdoor stages in Pyongyang and across the country to mark the day.
The Mansudae Art Troupe gave a music and dance performance at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre.
The performing artists sang highly of the undying exploits of the great leaders who put forward the people as genuine masters of the country, built a people-centred socialism where all of society serve the people and found themselves among the people all their lives to achieve the country’s prosperity and promote their wellbeing.
The National Symphony Orchestra gave a concert at the Moranbong Theatre. The performers represented the happy life of the Korean working people who enjoy worthwhile life in socialist society in a fantastic music world, leaving deep impression on the audience.
The music and dance performance given by the artistes of the National Folk Art Troupe was greeted with thunderous applause of the audience as they put on stage national musical instrumental ensemble, dance, song and dance and other numbers which were lively and full of national flavour and sentiments.
Members of artistic motivational teams of many units and those of district women’s union artistic motivational teams also gave colourful performances in various places of Pyongyang.
Performances were given in North and South Phyongan provinces, Jagang Province, North Hamgyong Province and other parts of the country.
Sports and amusement games took place at industrial establishments and farms.
Officials of provinces, cities, counties, institutions, industrial establishments and farms met scientists, technicians, innovators and other exemplary working people to congratulate them on their holiday.
