General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the Workers’ Party of Korea has further consolidated the single-hearted unity, the great foundation of the Korean revolution, through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities.

He expounded an idea of solidifying the political and ideological position of the revolution on the strength of single-hearted unity.

In his talk to senior officials of the WPK Central Committee on April 6, Juche 101 (2012), he suggested specific matters concerning how to grasp the public sentiment and strengthen single-hearted unity, including the need to ensure that the moral trait of helping and leading one another forward prevails throughout the country so that society is turned into a large, harmonious family that is united with a single mind.

The speech he delivered at the military parade and the public procession of Pyongyang citizens held in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK on October 10, Juche 104 (2015) served as an immortal guideline for making sure that the people-first principle runs through the whole of Party work and consolidating the single-hearted unity of the Party and the masses of the people rock-solid.

He, in his speech, said that the mode of existence of the WPK is serving the people and that the whole Party will conduct its building and activities only as instructed by the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il , and make selfless, devoted efforts for the benefit of the people by thoroughly applying the people-first principle to its overall work, thereby enhancing its fighting efficiency in every way possible.

He authored “The Cause of the Great Party of Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Is Ever-Victorious” and several other works to clarify the orientation and ways for thoroughly applying the people-first principle to the overall work of the Party, including how to make the climate of respecting, loving and depending on the people pervade it and how to get the point of the Party work focused on improving their living standards.

After providing the valuable guidelines for building up the harmonious whole of the Party and the masses, he urged fuller play given to the strength of single-hearted unity in socialist construction.

On October 10, Juche 105 (2016), he made public an immortal classic work, titled, “On Cherishing a Firm Belief in Our Own Style of Socialism,” in which he noted that single-hearted unity is the symbol of the Korean-style socialism. He emphasized that its invincible might lies in single-hearted unity which serves as a fundamental guarantee for the Korean-style socialism to achieve only victory.

In his New Year Address for Juche 106 (2017), he stressed that all the people should unite closely behind the Party in ideology, purpose and moral obligation so as to struggle staunchly to achieve the prosperity of the country. Later, he advanced the ideas on invariably carrying forward the tradition of single-hearted unity and cementing rock-solid the unity of the Party and the revolutionary ranks centring on the leader by establishing the Party’s unified leadership system more firmly.

In his concluding speech at the Eighth Congress of the WPK in January 2021, he said that single-hearted unity is the fundamental method for the Party to strike its roots deeper among the masses, and suggested issuing a call to continue of cherish deep in hearts the Party’s three ennobling ideals of “The people are God,” single-hearted unity and self-reliance to the Eighth Party Congress.

His idea on single-hearted unity constitutes the ideological and spiritual energy for the Korean people to speed up socialist construction, rallied firmly behind the Party.
