In the DPRK, a work has been pushed forward to produce salt with underground ultra-saline water.
According to an official concerned, salt from underground ultra-saline water has more components good for human body than that from sea water.
Those units, which introduced the salt production method by underground ultra-saline water, have put the production on an intensive basis to considerably increase the output per hectare while reducing the area of salt fields and the production cycle.
Chairman Kim Jong Il in his lifetime gave teachings that the said method should be actively applied in salt production and took a measure to confirm the deposits and fields of underground ultra-saline water in the west coastal area and other parts of the country.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Kwisong Salt Works in May Juche 105 (2016) and acquainted himself with real state of the salt production by underground ultra-saline water. He stressed that the relevant sector should vigorously prospect the promising fields of underground ultra-saline water and the salterns across the country should positively introduce the method of producing salt with underground ultra-saline water.
In recent years, new light drilling equipment was invented and innovative plans introduced for the salt production based on underground ultra-saline water.
