An auspicious event has come to the Komdok area, a large-scale production base of non-ferrous metal ore of the country bustling with a drive of loyalty for implementing the decisions of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a birthday spread to Ko Kyong Chan, leader of the Hero Workteam of the April 5 Pit at the Kumgol Mine under the Komdok Mining Complex.

Ko who was born into a miner family in Komdok in Juche 50 (1961) grew up enjoying a worthwhile life under the care of the peerlessly great men.

He has led the workteam made up of those who were born in 1961, the year when President Kim Il Sung gave the first field-guidance to the mining complex. He has devoted himself to the production of non-ferrous metal ore for decades with boundless loyalty to the Party, revolution, country and the people and with clean conscience of the working class.

Our Party has brought up Ko Kyong Chan and members of his workteam who have remained faithful to the cause of the Party with increased mineral production to be heroes, calling the working class the hard-core unit of the Juche revolution and the eldest son of the country, and lavishing favors on it.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made sure the title of Merited Miner was conferred on Ko Kyong Chan and sent a congratulatory letter to the members of his workteam who fulfilled their yearly plan for the mineral production on the threshold of the Day of the Sun (birthday of President Kim Il Sung) in 2017. He also made sure that Ko Kyong Chan participated in the 8th Congress of the Party and other important meetings as a delegate, putting his life in the blaze of glory.

Ko and members of his workteam, cherishing their ties with the Party as their lifeline, set up in the pit a board bearing the goal they pledged to attain before the Party and launched a fierce campaign for carrying out the Party's decisions. As a result, they fulfilled ahead of schedule their mineral production plan for the first year for implementing the fresh five-year plan and made a report of victory to the Party Central Committee.

The birthday spread was conveyed to Ko Kyong Chan on June 13.

Ko extended deep thanks to Kim Jong Un for his great trust and loving care.

Ko Kyong Chan, his family members and relatives and members of his workteam firmly pledged to further glorify their honor of being members of the heroic Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class in the van of the drive for increased mineral production for ushering in a new period of a great upsurge and bringing about a turn in the socialist construction, bearing in mind the great loving care of the Party and remaining faithful to the idea and guidance of the Party Central Committee.
