Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, had a significant meeting with Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People’s Republic of China, on a visit to the DPRK from June 20 to 21, Juche 108 (2019).

He warmly greeted Xi Jinping and had talks with him in a comradely, sincere and candid atmosphere.

The top leaders of the two countries stressed that it is the consistent stand of the parties and the governments of the two countries to steadily and energetically develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations as required by the times and it fully conforms with the aspiration, desire and basic interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Kim Jong Un hosted a grand banquet in honour of Xi Jinping and made a speech. In his speech, he said through the meetings and talks with the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, he confirmed once again the truth that socialism is the unchangeable core of the DPRK-China friendship and the peculiarity and invincibility of the bilateral friendship lie in defending and glorifying socialism by pooling efforts.

Xi Jinping, in his reply speech, expressed his will to jointly carve out a beautiful future of bilateral relations and a beautiful future of durable peace and co-prosperity in the region by inheriting history, hewing out the future and achieving unity and cooperation together with the DPRK side.

The meeting between Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping in Pyongyang was a historic event which developed the traditional DPRK-China friendship as required by the new era and demonstrated once again the durability of special intimacy between the leaders of the two countries and the peculiarity of bilateral relations.

The history between the two countries has witnessed the friendly feelings between the parties and peoples of the two countries that have supported and cooperated closely with each other, shedding blood and dedicating their lives to their joint struggle for anti-imperialist independence, peace and socialism.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il , together with the leaders of the elder generations of China, forged and cultivated the tradition of bilateral friendship.

With the ennobling will to carry forward the precious tradition down through the generations, Kim Jong Un visited China several times and met with Xi Jinping and, in the course of this, deepened the revolutionary friendship and comradely trust.

Whenever Kim Jong Un visited China, Xi Jinping and other leading officials of the Chinese party and government and the Chinese people welcomed him, who was making immortal contributions which would last forever in the chronicles of bilateral friendship, as the top state guest and accorded him sincere hospitality.

The DPRK-China friendly relationship, which has retained its original features even in the face of trials and difficulties of history, keeps developing, giving a strong impetus to the advance and development of the socialist cause under the close concern of the top leaders of the two countries.
