As we greet the month of July when the hearts of all our people are ever more burning with earnest frame of mind toward President Kim Il Sung who made great contributions to the development of friendly relations between the countries, we look back, with warm feelings, upon his everlasting traces left on the Mongolian soil.

From July 16 to 19, 1956, sixty-five years back now, President Kim Il Sung led the government delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to pay an official friendly visit to the then People’s Republic of Mongolia.

During his visit, President Kim Il Sung held talks with Prime Minister YU. Tsedenbal and other leaders of Mongolia.

At the talks held in an amicable and friendly atmosphere, matters were discussed for further strengthening and developing the friendship between the two countries and the cooperation in the fields of economy and culture; views were exchanged on a number of international issues of mutual interests; and a joint communique in respect of the talks was adopted.

President Kim Il Sung laid a wreath at the tombs of D. Sukhbaatar and KH. Choibalsan, initiators of Mongolian revolution, and at the memorial tower in honor of soldiers of the Soviet Union.

He attended a welcome mass rally held at a stadium of Ulaanbaatar and saw a mass gymnastic performed by the Mongolian schoolchildren. He also visited several factories, enterprises and museums, and saw a performance by the Mongolian artistes at the Ulaanbaatar National Music and Drama Theater.

In his speeches delivered on several occasions including welcome banquet and welcome mass rally, he expressed thanks to the Mongolian people for having supported our people in the periods of the Fatherland Liberation War and the post-war reconstruction and emphasized the importance for close cooperation between the two countries in their efforts for further developing the friendly and cooperative relations and consolidating the global peace.

Despite his tight schedule, President Kim Il Sung continued to leave everlasting traces in Mongolia by visiting the DPRK Embassy and the camp for the Korean war orphans.

He met the Korean war orphans at the camp located on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar and expressed his great satisfaction at seeing the young schoolchildren – flower buds of our fatherland – growing up lively in good health. He conveyed his gratitude to the Mongolian people for taking good care of the Korean children and gave his blessing to the war orphans to be excellent pillars of the fatherland by making increased efforts for learning.

President Kim Il Sung is the great man born of heaven who made immense contributions to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Mongolia.

We will hand down through generations and add luster to the immortal feats accomplished by President Kim Il Sung for the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between countries and for the accomplishment of the cause of global independence.
