The struggle of the Korean people to implement the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea is a fight to usher in a new period of great upsurge and sudden change in socialist construction by thoroughly applying the ideals of “The people are God”, “single-hearted unity” and “self-reliance”.

The congress, which was held last January, substituted cherishing the three ideals in mind once again as the slogan of the Party congress for putting up a high-sounding slogan.

“The people are God” reflects the consistent demand of the WPK that the whole Party definitely maintain the revolutionary Party trait of regarding it as the starting point and absolute and invariable principle of its building and activities to serve the people, while single-hearted unity and self-reliance embody in a concentrated way the ideological and theoretical viewpoint and political requirements concerning the lifeline and motive force of the Korean revolution.

The Korean revolutionaries put forward the ideals in the incipiency of the revolution and consistently applied them in the whole course of revolutionary practice, thereby building a country serving the people and opening up a new era of independence.

The whole history of the Korean revolution proved that the rise and fall of a state is decided by the support and united strength of the people and self-existence, not by any situation and condition of an age.

Therefore, the WPK decided to usher in a new period of great upsurge and sudden change in socialist construction, holding higher the ideals that are the invaluable tradition and eternal asset of the Korean revolution, given that the world-sweeping pandemic poses a threat to the security of the state and well-being of the people and there are mountains of difficulties to overcome and problems to solve.

In the DPRK these ideals serve as the slogan of action and practice.

The WPK is being built to be a servant of the people as its work is definitely being turned to be people-friendly and reality-friendly one, while an intensive struggle is being waged against abuses of power and corruption.

In addition, a collectivist trait of helping and leading one another forward is being established throughout the country under the slogan of “One for all and all for one!”

As they believe that private interests are part of public and collective interests and the happiness of each individual is included in national prosperity, everybody subordinates household affairs to state affairs, pools efforts and wisdom for the country’s prosperity and makes collective and joint innovations in every workplace.
