‘Sonamu'-brand bag speaks volumes about leader

A few years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Pyongyang Bag Factory as his first field guidance tour in the new year.

That day, he saw the bags produced by the factory in satisfaction and said that the supply of home-made satchels to schoolchildren is not a simple economic and technical issue, but a very important one to bring up children well for the future of the country. If they carry bags with other country’s brand from childhood, we can neither tell them that our country is the best nor cultivate patriotism in their mind, he said, adding bags or school things are small, but they play an important part in educating children.

Several months later, he sent the factory a label design of bag with letters of “Sonamu (pine tree)” depicting three pine leaves and a trunk.
