Young Victims of Gun-Related Crimes

Date: 23/09/2021 | Source: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EN) | Read original version at source

On September 5, a 33-year old ex-Navy Seal soldier broke into a house and went on a shooting spree, killing four persons including a 3-month old baby.

Earlier to this, another shocking incident occurred on August 13 in a family in Minnesota of United States: A 5-year old boy shot to death a 3-year old girl.

According to data from a U.S.-based organization, 19,380 people were killed in the U.S. in 2020 as a result of gun-related crimes. Death toll of children, among them, amounted to 300, a 50-percent increase compared with 2019.

A center which specializes in gathering data on gun-related crimes in the U.S. made public the fact that 196 children aged between 1 and 11 were killed in the U.S. by various gun-related crimes until August 14 this year.

All these facts vividly show that innocent children are becoming the prime victims of indiscriminate gun-related crimes in the U.S.

It is the reality of the U.S. that children, who are supposed to grow up in the lullabies of their parents and dream about the future while learning, have to grow up amid the constant sounds of gunfire.

Such a state, notorious for violation of the children’s rights and for the most inhuman crimes, indulges itself in impudent interference by taking issue over human rights situation and children’s rights in other countries, posing itself as a “judge of world human rights”.

World public opinions are turning their back on the deceptive catchphrase of “human rights” by the U.S. which is the world’s worst wilderness of human rights and biggest violator of children’s rights.
