The substance of the speech delivered by Suga, Japanese Prime Minister at the 76 th Session of the United Nations General Assembly over the issue of the DPRK is nothing but a statement which betrays once again true colors of Japan’s hostile policy against the DPRK by distorting the nature and essence of the issue.
When we look at Suga who put up a fantastic “billboard” even at the stage of the United Nations advertising for resolution of “nuclear, missile and abducting issues” which is absolutely impossible, we can’t but raise a question if he has a basic personality and qualification as befits a common politician, far from being the Prime Minister of a country.
Suga is now placed in such a miserable position where he had to leave his premiership after suffering an ignominious defeat. He swayed to the left and right without his own opinion and proper policy kowtowing to power of one politician which is based on heredity, faction and wealth.
Suga’s speech doesn’t deserve even the slightest notice in each word, and it is simply a last-ditch attempt of someone who has a good long innings. However, we can neither overlook nor put aside the fact that he, together with Abe, his predecessor, vilified and slandered the DPRK’s measures to bolster up its national defensive power until his last day for nearly 10 years as well as the consequences of driving the DPRK-Japan relations into the worst state of confrontation.
In future, too, whoever is to be elected as Prime Minister next time in Japan, we will have no dealings at all with any politician who would try to follow in the footsteps of his or her predecessor’s hostile policy towards the DPRK, to say nothing of Abe or Suga.
Japan will never be able to dodge its responsibility for inflicting scourge of war upon humankind and committing gravest inhumane crimes against the Korean people in the past which are unprecedented in history.
