On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Comrade Raul Castro Ruz's visit to Pyongyang etched in the history of the DPRK-Cuba friendship
The peoples of the DPRK and Cuba recollect with deep emotion the Pyongyang visit paid by Raul Castro Ruz, vice－president of the Council of Ministers and minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, 55 years ago.
President Kim Il Sung warmly greeted Comrade Raul Castro Ruz and his party at the Pyongyang Airport (at that time) in October, Juche 55 (1966) and accorded them cordial hospitality during their stay.
The DPRK established diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level with the Republic of Cuba on August 29, Juche 49 (1960).
The DPRK is far away from Cuba, but the two countries have steadily developed the friendly and cooperative relations, while standing shoulder to shoulder in the joint struggle for smashing the U.S. aggression, interference in internal affairs, blockade and pressure and building socialism.
President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il , together with Comrades Fidel Castro Ruz and Raul Castro Ruz, provided and developed the foundations of the special relations of friendship between the DPRK and Cuba on the basis of the revolutionary principle, comradely obligation and socialist principle. The relations have made a great contribution to realizing positive cooperation between the two parties and the two countries in all fields of politics, economy and culture and to ensuring their concerted action in the international arena.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un values the strategic and comradely relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Cuba handed down by the great leaders, and devotes himself to expanding and developing the relations as required by the new era.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly met with Comrade Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, president of the Republic of Cuba (president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba at that time), on a visit to the DPRK in November, Juche 107 (2018), thus deepening friendly relations with him and ensuring that the history and traditions of the friendship between the two countries have been invariably carried forward and further developed.
The genuine comradely unity and relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Cuba, established in the struggle for accomplishing the cause of independence and socialism against imperialism, will invariably grow stronger in the future, too. -0-
