The acrylic paints produced at the Songyong Paints Factory in South Phyongan Province are popular in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Recently, the factory is striving to revitalize the production of paints with raw materials rich at home.
Those involved in the technical development of the factory, in cooperation with researchers concerned, developed catalysts necessary for acrylic acid synthesis by themselves, making a breakthrough in boosting the production of paints while economizing a lot of fund. They also established a production method for increasing the production of paints with raw materials rich at home.
In addition, they pushed ahead with the work to improve the quality of those paints produced with locally-available raw materials at the same time. As a result, the quality of the paints was greatly improved as against before in the indexes of their technical analysis such as chromaticity, particle size and water resistance.
Such success could be made because not only the technicians but also all other employees of the factory took an active part in the settlement of problems as masters.
The employees of the Songyong Paints Factory are making efforts to improve the quality of the acrylic paints and increase their kinds according to the demand of architectural beauty.
