"More than 20 years has passed since I started my career as an official of the youth shock brigade after graduating from a university.

In those days, I took part in a number of projects but the most impressive one is the project of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.

It is not only because I became a labor hero at that time but also because of the name 'Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station'.

Hero youth! What a proud appellation it is!

Set up on the Paektu Plateau is a monument to the feats of the heroic youth who built the power station, with the medal of Hero of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea embossed on it.

The respected Kim Jong Un had the medal embossed on the monument, saying all the people should know the heroic feats of the youth.

He visited the construction site of the power station in northern part of the country several times to encourage us.

It was just before its completion that he called at the construction site on September 13, Juche 104(2015), only several months after his last visit.

At that time, we worked day and night and successfully finished the huge dam project of Unit 1 of the power station in a hundred and tens of days.

Kim Jong Un shook hands with each of the commanding personnel of the shock brigade including me who were beside themselves with joy.

He saw the high dam of Unit 1 of the power station from different places, walked on the dam and said with satisfaction: Wonderful. Really magnificent. It's handsome. Looking up at it, it seems to be the sky-high spirit of our young people. In the distance it looks like a huge army of youth as fortress and shield defending the Party Central Committee. As the dam was built by the idea and spirit of our young people, its height can never be measured with measuring unit.

Looking up to him, we could not repress our surging emotion.

That day, Kim Jong Un called all the young people as heroes and named it the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.

The shock-brigaders including me were too ordinary young people who could be found in this country.

But they performed feats and wrought miracles in the construction of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station and I was awarded the title of Labor Hero.

Today, too, the Korean young people volunteer to work in the important sectors of socialist construction collectively and devote all their strength and enthusiasm.

Kim Jong Un sent a letter of congratulations to them on the occasion of the Youth Day August 28.

In the letter, he wrote: I am in belief that all the young people will exalt their honour of being heroic youth who are loved by their collectives and comrades as treasures of their workplaces and artists of great feats and who will remain in the memory of their motherland and fellow people.

His great trust is encouraging the young people to make a breakthrough in the van of the advancing ranks.

The prosperous future of the country will be brought earlier thanks to the vigorous steps of the Korean young people running in the van all the time."
