Modern dwellings for a thousand and hundreds of families have been built in the City of Samjiyon, Ryanggang Province.
The construction of single-, low- and multi-storey modern dwelling houses in 10 dongs and ris of the city in good harmony with natural undulations at the foot of Mt Paektu has turned the holy place of the revolution into a socialist fairyland which is better to live in.
Meetings for moving to new houses were held between October 20 and 27.
Present there were Kim Jong Song, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Thae Il, chief secretary of the Ryanggang provincial party committee, officials and working people of the city and builders.
Licenses for the use of houses were conveyed to house owners at the meetings.
As the moving to new houses began, the villages were enveloped in holiday atmosphere with joyful dance parties.
Officials visited families that moved to new houses to congratulate and share joy with the owners.
Hwang Yong Guk, head of the Pothae-dong office in the city, said with tears in his eyes that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un provided them with such nice flats gratis and nowhere in the world can be seen such a great man as him who loves the people so intensely.
“I volunteered to work at the farm quite recently and I’ve done nothing special, but the Workers’ Party of Korea provided me with a new house. Indeed, our motherly Party and the socialist system of our country are the best in the world,” said Son Song Gwang, an ex-serviceman who volunteered as a farmer at the Junghung Farm from Pyongyang. And he expressed his resolve to do farming well to repay the favour bestowed on him by the Party with proud achievement of rich crop harvest.
