Samjiyon City is a mountainous area in Ryanggang Province in northern Korea.
There has been built a wonderful standard of modern mountain cities, an ideal model of local cities.
In November last, the respected Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to Samjiyon City and expressed great satisfaction over the fact that it has been built into an icon of highly civilized mountain cities.
He visited the then Samjiyon County in November Juche 105(2016) and conceived a plan to change it remarkably.
Looking at the bronze statue of the great leader Kim Jong Il again and again in the snow that day, he said in a hoarse voice that how good it would have been if Kim Jong Il had seen the miracles wrought in the county he had loved so much.
Kim Jong Il called at Samjiyon County tens of times in his lifetime to build it up wonderfully.
He visited it for the first time in June Juche 45(1956).
Staying at a log cabin in a forestry workers' village, he talked with villagers till late at night.
He said an unprecedentedly wonderful city would be built there and that he promised it.
In order to keep his promise, he visited Samjiyon County time and again and took measures to build it into a socialist fairyland.
At a winter night he walked a newly built street of the county town, saying he would not dislike to be exposed to snow all day long for the people. On a spring day he looked round with pleasure the newly built cultural, sports and public catering establishments.
He constantly devoted himself to make the people of Samjiyon County well-off until the last period of his great life. In order to realize his noble desire, Kim Jong Un has built up Samjiyon City more wonderfully.
Two years ago, the township was completed to the pleasure of the whole country and this year, people moved into new houses in more than 10 villages.
The happier life the Samjiyon citizens lead in their brightly lit houses, the more ardently they yearn for Kim Jong Il who devoted his life to the people.
