U.S. Should First Fix Its Miserable Human Rights Situation

Arbitrariness and high-handedness of the United States are nowadays becoming ever more undisguised at the United Nations human rights forum.

The U.S. returned to the UN Human Rights Council in October, pledging a “fresh contribution” to the universal promotion and protection of human rights.

However, the developments that have emerged thereafter from the UN forum clearly indicate that the pledge was nothing but flowery words.

At the meetings of UN Human Rights Council and Third Committee of the 76 th Session of UNGA, the U.S. again hurled a volley of criticisms at our country and other countries of its dislike including China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria and Iran. Moreover, it went as far as to incite confrontation by calling for penal accountability.

At the same time, it made lame excuses for its acts related to racial discrimination and immigration - an American chronic disease - and placed artificial barriers to the efforts of international society for finding solutions.

The U.S. poses as a “human rights judge” and attempts to interfere in the internal affairs and overthrow the systems of those countries it counts as disobedient to it.  But it is the reality that the American sinister intention can never be veiled, no matter how doggedly it tries to deceive the world with honeyed words.

The U.S. with the worst human rights record is in fact the most miserable wasteland of human rights.

It has gained notoriety for its slave trade, racial discrimination and slaughter since the first day it had been built on the grave of the American Indians. And it is the villain that has committed destruction, slaughter and regime change in all parts of the world. This has brought about refugee crisis, causing numerous people to wander about for making their living.

The U.S. is an undisputed wasteland of human rights that produces frequent tragicomedies. To name but a few, the “suffocating pains” imposed upon the non-whites and minority groups as the result of racial and ethnic hatred, and antagonism are institutionally connived at and encouraged, and police officer is awarded medal of honor as being a “hero” for having killed an innocent citizen in broad daylight.

The argument itself made by the U.S. over the human rights situations of other countries is highly preposterous and impudent.

What comes to the U.S. as a matter of urgency is fixing its own miserable human rights situation, rather than disputing human rights situations of other countries.
